Billy W.2024-07-27We had already received multiple quotes prior to George visiting us for our quote. He came out around 6PM on a Wednesday and called me while onsite. We discussed everything and he gave me a great price. He said he was giving me a great price due to a job that had rescheduled for the next day (Thursday) and he needed some filler work to take of his guys and keep them busy. This at first raised red flags for me and I was hesitant. I told him to let me discuss with my wife and we would let him know in a hour or so. He said no problem and he suggested I check his BBB and other reviews. He even told me he had a bad review because he dropped the ball getting a gentlemans estimate scheduled. I appreciated his honesty and told him I would call in a bit. We decided to move forward with George and his crew after checking his reviews and reaching out to a mutual friend that knew of George's family and company. George said I will be there by 7:30 Thursday morning and was genuinely appreciative of us choosing his company. He arrived at out house at 7:20 and we confirmed everything was as we discussed. His normal practice is to take half at signing and the remainder at the end of the job but he said he appreciated me accepting and he would take complete payment at the end to be sure I was happy with everything. His crew arrived within 10-15 minutes and they immediately started to work. I have cameras so I peeped in during the day at work and everything he said he would do he was doing. They completed around 4 that day and he asked me to call him when I got home. I got home at around 5 and texted George and he was back at my house in 15 minutes. I had a few questions and he patiently answered them even after working all day in the heat at my house. We said shaked hands and he left and his Mom called me within minutes to receive payment. Long review I know but I felt that a family owned business that has been around roughly 50 years needed to be recognized for the old school work ethic and the fact that George cared enough for his crew to keep them busy in these tough times. As a business owner I can guarantee you George did not bank a large profit on this project and it was strictly to keep his folks busy and earning pay. Even with my limited knowledge of asphalt I know enough to see he did not take short cuts either. Thank you George, Virginia and Thurmont Paving crew!! I already referred a friend on Thursday evening and George called him today (Friday)to get his estimate on the books.

They worked with us to enable us to run our business while they paved with very little interruption. This is a local family owned business and they are wonderful to work with.
